Antique Furniture Sets

I love my home office – I fought for a number of years to get it, and now that I get to work from home, I’d never give up the chance. I promised myself that it would never become just another office to me. I wanted it to be an inspiration room, a place that I never regretted sitting down each morning.

As such, I brought in several antique pieces of furniture to make it feel more like home to me, and to make it even more beautiful and nice to be in. For example, I wanted a unique desk to sit and work at, so I asked a friend to restore an antique secretary desk that I found on auction. This is the kind of desk that was used in the late 1800s, so it has plenty of space for paperwork, a very large overhead cabinet for storage, and enough desk space for my laptop and to write at. It’s also gorgeous, and I love sitting down at it each morning.

My office has a door leading outside, as I like to step outside and get some fresh air a few times each day. To make room for my coats that I’d need for the different seasons, I got some wooden lockers for mudroom use. These lockers are hand-carved, with a rustic design that makes me think of a cottage in the middle of the forest when I look at it. It puts me at peace, and is a great way to relax my mind every couple hours during the day.

These pieces of furniture, combined with the rustic decorations I have in the room, make for a wonderful place to work. If you have the chance to work from home, make sure it’s the kind of place you don’t mind spending a good portion of the day in. You won’t regret it.
