Making Websites
If you make websites for a living, you’ll know that some will do well and others won’t. Not all niches are equal, and some will make a lot more money than others. The problem, however, is that it’s often impossible to figure out which ones will make the money and which won’t!
While there are some things we can look at to get an idea, most of the time, they aren’t sure fire ways to tell. For example, some niches look like they could be extremely profitable. They have a lot of sites on the subject, and using analysis tools you can tell those sites get a lot of traffic. The sites also have good affiliate products, and we all know that to sell affiliate products you need a lot of traffic. So these sites must be making a lot of money right? Ur, wrong! This isn’t necessarily the case. It’s often the case where some niches get a lot of traffic that just doesn’t convert to sales. This may be for a number of reasons, but just know that some sites may be more effort than they’re worth.
So let’s say you figure out you’re in one of these niches. You’re getting a good amount of traffic but you’re simply not making much money for all your work. So, what do you do? Do you simply stop working on the site you’ve spent so long building up? Well put simply, yes. Why invest more time and effort into some thing that’s not working? Surely it’d be a better use of your time to work on something that can and will make you money?
You could always put pay per click advertisements on the site and start building a list for that site which you could use in different, but related niches (Look for email marketing tips if you’re not sure how to do this). You may make some change from the existing search engine traffic it revives, but don’t put any more effort into it.
