In the business world there is an ongoing need to keep up with the information and technology that is being developed and put into use around the globe. Over the past 10 years there has been a marked increase in the computer industry alone. Creating new devices, software, and platforms that incorporate ever increasing changes to technology, the need to protect the formulas, equations and calculations as well as the hardware that is altering the world we live in. Through the filing of international patents, industry leaders are able to protect their intellectual property as they are advancing civilizations and influencing productivity.

Throughout history great inventors have protected their work by filing for a patent that enables them to preserve their discoveries and maintain a strong grip on their intellectual property. Thomas Edison held more than 1000 separate patents for everyday household items that are still in use today. Steve Jobs is another innovator who has changed how business runs and the way that people are productive. Within his lifetime the founder of the personal computer, credited creator of the iPod, iPad, and iPhone as well as number other technologies. He developed touch screen interfaces, was responsible for the computer mouse, and pioneered the color monitor for computer users around the world. To his credit Mr. Jobs held at least 300 patents and there are other people and organizations that continue to develop new technologies that are revolutionizing the way that people connect and communicate.

One such individual is Nikola Telsa, who introduced the world to radio transmissions and engineered many electronic devices that paved the way for other inventions to follow. Of the 111 patents held by Mr. Tesla, there are some that have been lost from the eyes of the world, yet still hold great value for the genius who developed the modern electric motor and alternating current (AC) electricity.

With a need to protect their inventions many corporations file for patents each year and with the global influence many of those patents are being translated into different languages and enforces throughout the world. Holding international patents, individuals and corporations can ensure that there innovations are protected as they continue to make the world a better place for everyone to live in.
